Conference Weekend!

People. It's here. General Conference Weekend! Not only do I love to hear counsel from our leaders, but I really enjoy seeing good old SLC on the TV. It makes me feel like I am home again for a few hours. Visit the link below to learn more about it!

We have a big day planned tomorrow.
Family pictures, Cannon pictures, conference and lunch with friends.
I will also be attending a funeral for a dear friend.

On Sunday we plan to stay in our PJs, eat yummy snacks, and watch conference! It will be nice having our church start at 11:00 instead of 9:00 for one day...I admit we are not the most timely group anymore. It's tough when I am up half the night, then if Cannon is asleep I really don't want to wake him. So we usually roll in the door around 9:30.

This Thing Called Life

Working full time from home is awesome, and has some great benefits (namely being home with my son all day every day) although it is 1,000 times busier than I expected. Spending time with my son, working during the day, cooking, cleaning, etc is tough. Then add in the seemingly sleepless nights since Cannon hasn't been sleeping well and it can be overwhelming sometimes. Those are the times where I remind myself to forget everything aside from Cannon, then he and I play and play and play. I make him giggle and I laugh in return because he is just so sweet.

Last week I had the best outing with Erica, and it was seriously a highlight of the week. She and I went to Costco together where we had lunch and did some shopping. Something about lunch at Costco. It's great! Erica introduced me to their ice cream bar covered in chocolate and almonds. Have you had one of those? It was SO yummy! She carried Cannon in the Ergo (practicing for Amelia's arrival!) and looked like a model from the catalog. Seriously! After shopping we went back to her house where we relaxed, chatted, and played with Cannon. It was nice to be out of the house, with a friend, and forgetting everything else for a few hours.

I tell ya though, I am aching for a new wardrobe. Aside from getting some great maternity clothes I haven't bought many new clothes for myself since, well, around the time we got married I suppose. I absolutely hate getting dressed every day because the only thing I am comfortable in is jeans and a t-shirt (aside from sweat pants...). Part of this is due to my post-baby body, but the majority of it is the fact that all my stuff is getting old and worn out. Humph. I know I could have bigger problems but along with the desire for a pedicure and a massage, this is at the top of my list. I have started window shopping a lot online and planning my wardrobe for the distant future. Once Scott starts residency and we start paying back loans I will start doing a few things for myself as well. I'm excited for that time to come. :)

This kind of turned out to be a bit of a downer post, though I didn't intend for it to be that way! Overall, I really am loving life with my boys. We are counting the days until we can live closer to family again. We realized that living far away is no longer an adventure, and really want to be close to home again so we hope that the future can bring us back west!
