Basically I Got An Awesome New Job

Early December: A coworker shoots me a casual email about an open position that I'm interested in. I apply.

Mid December: I have a phone interview with a recruiter. Mostly just a formality since I'm an internal applicant.

Early January: I have a face-to-face interview with two supervisors. It goes well, but I have a some doubts.

Mid January: I have a second interview. It goes incredibly well (more like a conversation than an interview). I am confident.

Yesterday: I am offered the job. I am beyond excited!

Today: It becomes official, I am the newest Work Director within Wells Fargo Retail Services Customer Service (that's a mouthful).

This is probably what my face looked like when I found out.
Yes this is a picture from high school graduation.
Yes I am so ecstatic that I don't care if I look funny.
Here I go!

Christmas was awesome. New Years was awesome. We spent a few days in Utah and a few days in Idaho. It was so nice to be home with our families and friends. We ate lots of food, played lots or games and just enjoyed the company. It was worth sitting in airports for hours to get home for the holidays.

We came home and jumped right back into life. Truly. I went to work an hour or so after we got home then we had a massive grocery shopping experience. After having a quick dinner we literally fell into bed and slept like never before.

It's weird to feel like Des Moines is home, but it is. It already feels like it has been months since we were home in Utah and Idaho. Scott is back in study mode, although the workload for the second half of year two is a lot lighter than previous semesters simply because this is the time students prepare for their first set of board exams.

At DMU the third year rotation lottery is in progress. Students submitted their choices and now we wait! At the end of the month we will have the official word on where Scott will be assigned for the coming school year (most likely still in Iowa, just traveling around the state). Seeing Scott's submitted list really hit me. This is happening!

Work has been and continues to be very busy for me, and I love it. There is hardly a dull moment and I have some really great coworkers and friends. I have a pretty big interview this week and I'm hoping it turns out with me getting the promotion, but I still really enjoy my current job so any case would be an ok thing for me.

We are both keeping busy with our callings. Scott is now the Branch Clerk which makes for some really long Sundays at church. I am still serving as the Young Women's President and I am loving it. It is definitely trying, but each sliver of interest from the girls gets me excited. I also have a wonderful counselor who balances me well. I am looking forward to a brand new year with my girls!

I have loved getting snow the past week or so. Just enough to feel like winter but not enough to make us lock ourselves inside. I am still amazed by the Iowa drivers who don't know how to drive in the snow. Also, this winter hasn't been quite as cold as last year, but I am still surprised that I don't cringe at the thought of going outside for a few minutes.

I think it's safe to say that Scott lost the nerf gun battle.
